I was just reading through ClientBasic Help & came across this:

---------------------------------
Syntax: Year(DateVar$)
Description: Returns an integer between 1980 and 1999, inclusive, that represents the
year given in DateVar$.
Parameters:

DateVar$ - a string expression that can be resolved to a valid date.
Notes: The function return an Integer data type representing the year. To check that
a string or string expression can be resolved to a valid date, use the IsDate
function.
Example code

' Protel International 1999. All rights reserved.
----------------------------------

Am I getting this right, Protel ClientBasic does not support Years above 1999? And
the documentation was written in 1999. Did Protel expect this function to only work
for that particular year? Did Protel's ClientBasic exist back in 1980? Was Protel
thinking forward, or backward?

;)
