Well, that's not a cut pad, though it is almost as good. A cut pad would 
have a larger area. The radius of curvature in the outside edges of a cut 
pad is larger.

What would be better would be for Protel to fix the plot problems with 
octagonal pads with differing x and y dimensions, which are a tiny bit 
better than cut pads for the purpose in question. Or what Tango called 
rounded rectangles, that is, rectangles with rounded corners.

I think octagons are the best unless one is routing any-angle, in which 
case rounded rectangles would be a little bit better.
