Steve,

I made it hard for you - it is FreeVCS not FreeCVS - link is here
http://www.thensle.de/index.htm

It is capable of being integrated into the Borland Delphi and C++ Builder
environment but there is a standalone version that I used for a short while
but have not set up since a HD crash.

The FreeVCS system suited me as it allowed internet access (but I have not
seen how this will go through my firewall), has an integrated database
(DBISAM) but can be configured to use any external SQL database
apparently. It does not use differential storage (so there is no issue
with corruption of the root document) but this means storage requirements
are higher than otherwise. It looked reasonable to me but I am no expert.
Oh its got a GUI and will run under Win2k.

I am interested in evaluating other open source version control systems
that suit more than just software and allow for access via the
internet. any suggestions.
