Mira,
you do not have to forget the windows shortcuts but there is more to
it then just the windows shortcuts.

You must first select the parts to be copied by encircling them with
the mouse, check that they are all highlighted. Or you can use "SHIFT" left
mouse clicks on the parts. Once selected then you can use Ctrl C or Ctrl
Insert to copy. The point which is hard to remember at first is that after
using Crtl C or Ctrl Insert then you must left click at the point where you
want your cursor to be referenced. Now the copy is in the clipboard.

Now to paste you could use either Ctrl V or Shift Insert to paste.
The parts will be attached to the mouse at the reference point that you set
when you copied. Click again to locate them at the desired location.

If you are using copies within PCB, this has copied items without
any intelligence as to connection nets. If you want to maintain connection
net intelligence when you copy you must use the Paste Special command and
select keep net names, allow duplicate designators or some of the other
selections with that command. Only using the paste special command under the
Edit menu will allow for the retention of net connectivity when pasting in
PCB.

Sincerely,
Brad Velander.
