Well, float is a kind of Number, so that's why you can't use that word directly -- it's reserved by JavaScript, and 'you have to dance with who brung ya'. In those cases, you can usually use css[the word] as a substitute, so cssFloat in this case, if you want to use the bare camelCase words.
