OK. Scripts will help with this, for sure. Though VoiceOver can't click with modifier keys active, I can combine modifiers with click actions in QuicKeys. Initially, I'm going to have some global shortcut keys for clicking with different modifiers, but can do a lot with this later in PT specifically.

BTW, in the Tracks List table, there's actually a button to the left of the track icon which is a select button. We don't have direct access to the button much like we don't have direct access to it's Show/Hide status. Unlike the select status, however, the show and hide states are accessible through the contextual menu.
