Hello

The mini is not really a portable unit.  It requires a display.  It doesn't 
have a current generation processor either.  The 13 inch mac book pro is the 
best portable option right now.  As long as you aren't doing high channel 
counts the 13 will be the best bang for the buck.  Make sure you get it with 8 
gb of memory and a ssd if you can afford it.  It is a real game changer having 
a solid state disk.  You will still need a 7200 rpm external firewire drive 
also.  Your probably looking at $2000 us for the system and the external disk.  
That's with the standard 2.3 ghz processor 8 gb of ram and the 128 gb ssd.
