I'm using my MacBook Pro to do Pro Tools things and it is a core 2 duo
processor. It works fine but you want to be aware that it does, like all
things, have its limits. Memory will help some.

Hello Frank and others,

Aside from the fact that a Mini doesn't come with a monitor, what would a
Macbook Pro give me that a Mini won't? For example, would I run into
problems while converting MIDI tracks to audio and applying effects?

The mini is still a core 2 duo. This is 2008 technology at best. I was
hoping they would put an i3 or i5 in the mini in the 2010 model. Some
speculate that the 2011 model will be coming out soon. If it moves to a
sandy bridge chip then it would be a viable option.
