It is really going to depend on your needs. Will you be recording personal
projects, will you be attempting to use it as a foundation for a recording
studio? In short, with my small knowledge I think it will be very ataquit
for personal needs. I have a friend who I shared my studio with and he used
a Mac mini with less power than the one you listed and he was able to
satisfy a small client bass without any complaints about his Mini's
capabilities. I use an Imac and I think it is doing ok myself.

Subject: Which Mac, and specs?
Hi All, I'm a Mac virgin, and am about to get my first one with a view to
learning ProTools, but I also want to use Boot Camp so that I can run Sonar
under Windows to keep working on existing projects. I've been looking at
the whole Mac range and should really appreciate some advice from those
with knowledge and experience of the Mac world. I'm leaning towards a Mac
Mini, with a 2.6 GHZ quad core processor, 16 GB RAM, and 1 TB fusion drive.
Do you think this will be adequate, or should I be looking at the Mac Pro
with its rather overwhelming customisation choices? Or are there other
considerations which would make you choose MacBook Pro or iMac? Any comments
or thoughts very much appreciated. Best, Peter ******* Peter Bosher, Email:
