Actually if i am not mistaken pro tools express is a new light version  based 
on PT 10. and given PT 10 is fully accessible minus the AAX plug in it ships  
with. I'd guess express should be usuable. Pro TOols SE and LE are older 
versions and not really cut from the same cloth so don't think of them of the 
same. Regarding pro tools 10 it is possible  to remove the AAX plug ins and 
force it to revert back to the accessible RTAS plug ins so don't let this put  
you off getting PT 10 or trying express. Yes unfortunately you will have to 
have a version of LION or SL in order to use Pro tools of any kind on the mac 
at the moment. Personally i prefer lion as using SL is like going back to the 
stone ages as far as accessibility is concerned lol.
