Let me put it this way, in Pro TOols when running on ML, it will not read any edit fields. including the counters or etc. So yes you can record and edit and etc, but you will be flying in the dark so to speak as you won't be able to read any edit fields whatsoever in the app. You can install Lion to a external HD or if you have an SD card slot install lion to an SD card.
