That's always a good idea. One never knows what the actual status will be until the oficial release. There was precisely that kind of situation several years ago when version 8.0.3 was supposed to have had the first improvements in accessibility since version 5 and it was withheld until 8.0.4 for specific reasons having nothing to do with voiceOver itself. Anyway, I'd imagine it'll be out very soon and everybody will be able to have a look and discuss.
