Hi:
I have to agree with slau concerning the apple keyboard. I wouldn’t think of
using my mac book pro without it. It is very slim and sturdy, and the two usb
ports (one at each end) are very handy for ilok dongles. THey just stick out
like little wings and are very safe and secure. Apple does make a wireless
keyboard to use with a macbook but it doesn’t have the numeric keypad either.
I guess they opted for compactness rather than functionality with that one.
I’ve never used mine at all.
I did have some limited success at least being able to delete unwanted midi
notes in the event list by getting the zoom level set just right and then
stepping through events with the cursor keys on my alesis master mix control
surface. Not a real solution for sure. At this point, if I intend to do any
serious midi editing, I have to do it in Sonar or reaper on windows and then
import it into pro tools. I really haven’t looked at reaper on the mac in
quite a while. It would be nice if their midi editing was accessible because
pro tools could use it at a rewire device. Also, n-track studio may have
potential. Their iPad app is quite accessible in some areas from what little
I’ve played with it.
