One thing to consider also is that AAX plug-ins in PT version 10.3.8 under 
Mavericks are accessible. That said, it appears that the 7-band EQ happens not 
to be accessible there. further, there seem to be some third-party AAX plug-ins 
readable in PT 10.3.8 under Mavericks as well. Of course, the proprietary 
library access is an issue regardless of OS. Yep, seems like Mountain Lion is 
generally best avoided.
