Hey Terry yep that did it. Very odd. i set all these preferences in protools using the nuts and bolts section of the mat and rob tutorial. But i think i hit a wrong key stroke on the mumeric keypad and changed something in there today. so you saved me heaps of work tomorrow working out just what i messed up. working beautifully again thanks.
