I mentioned earlier on another thread that, by default, Pro Tools is set to enable plug-in automation but, of course, one does have to make sure that checkbox is unchecked in the Preferences dialog. Here's the thing: I've been finding that preferences have been reverting unexpectedly. I haven't been able to pinpoint when it happens. I've been going back and forth through several versions of Pro Tools recently and I seem to notice it more so perhaps it's a matter of version issues. At any rate, it's probably a good idea to keep your eye on the preferences from time to time.
