I've had this happen to me at times when I switch keyboards, or use a wireless/Bluetooth KB. There is a symbolic hotkeys files that needs deleted and preferences as far as spot light need reset. I'll try to dig the article up if I can when I'm back today, but if you google the issue it should pop up.
