Hello all of you, :-) I am having a new hobby / projekt in mind and would like to have your input in terms of accessibility with Protools or Logic on the mac.
for years now I enjoy synths very much. Synths always have been a wonderful thing for me. Early when I listened to music (around 1985) and bejond I always loved them. 6 months ago I bought my self a 2013 macbook pro with 16 gb ram and a 528 ssd flash drive. Now that I know the OSX system a bit better I want to go into music produktion specifficly I want to make synth patches and multies with Omnisphere 2 and native. I realice what a challening task this may be. The first things I need information on is how accessible is the stuff on the mac with protools or logic when it comes to synths? Here are my speciffic questions that mostly can be answered with a yes or a no. Based on these answers I will go with a pc-setup or mac-setup. I would love a mac because it has more power! Power that I will dearly need! 1. Are vst or any other synth or efect plugins in general accessible in Protools or logic? 1.1 Are the pages of the synth parameters accessible so I can change them and hear what I change? 1.2 How difficold is it to map out a solution to midi-controllers to change things? 1.3 How many midi-controllers could be connected to a mac if it is possible to map funktions to different controllers? 2. Here are the Produkts I will get to get me started: - Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol and komplete-10-ultimate With that solution I know that most of the Native stuff is now accessible. What about the spoken feedback when I change things on the efect or synth pages is there any? 2.1 I will also get the produkts from the spectrasonics famely: - Omnisphere 2 - Stylus RMX - Realtime Groove Module - Trilian - Total Bass Module How accessible are they on the mac with protools or logic? Then I have the Refx Nexus 2 allready here. How accessible is Nexus 2 on the mac? This will give me a great setup I think. The synth patches and sounds creation I want to acomplish with Omnisphere 2 and the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol and komplete-10-ultimate solution. I realice I may need a mixed solution between pc and mac to get both worlds and maximum accessibility. any help or suggestions are much appricated.
