Hi Patrick,

The Avid surface will help a lot. Regarding soft synths, NI stuff and 
Omnisphere will be quite accessible. Haven't used Nexus but, if the parameters 
are automatable, they should show up in the plug-in window and you should be 
able to interact with them either through the window or via control surface.
