The Glyph drive that I ordered is rated for continual use. If I remember right, it may also have a fan in the enclosure, hard to remember, I read the specs on quite a few drives.

I would always get Western digital red or equivalent, they are designed for continuous operation and last much longer and you can get the hd and put it in an enclosure which is what I have done. I much prefer the enclosure to have a fan -- keeps the drive cool and lasts much longer.
