Unless you can play with one before hand or get one with a good return policy, personally I wouldn’t go that route. The problem is those things as I remember it has a lot of deeper menu options and those things aren’t self voicing. So unless you can play with one to see what limitations you would be working within, a laptop and a small interface would probably be the more accessible portable rig for us. You can still treat a DAW like a “tape Machine” if you want to. It’s up to you how complex you make it.
