When I load sample tank, click on the button that says factory default, I only
get that listing. Do I have to browse to the file I want to open and click it?
When I do that, it brings up some kind a text edit box. So, I'm not sure how to
get the preset loaded in sample tank.

.TFX files are the Pro Tools format for plug-in presets. They're found in:
Documents/Pro Tools/Plug-in Presets
Take a look there and you'll see how the folders have the .TFX files in them.
These are the presets that show up in the preset pop-up menu in the Plug-in
window.
