-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi,
I am a pth list lurker - I need pth to support posix threaded apps on various unix platforms. I think Ralf has written _lots_ of excellent software . I, for one, cant complain if he has a high latency on responding to peoples problems. So I guess the rest of us have to step up and help ourselves in the meantime. Maintaining a patched version of the BSD port is a useful start, though I cant really use that 8-), using the BSD site as a patch repository is certainly much more helpful for me 8-). I would offer my companies resources for a patch repository, but I dont think our bandwidth is up to it 8-( We could also start a sourceforge project to just maintain patches till Ralf can approve and merge them ... The biggest problem would be getting some consensus whether patches are actually work, are bug free, dont break any other functionality or introduce unwanted performance overheads, are platform nuetral etc. Or it could just be 'Caveat Emptor' .... There doesnt appear to be a list archive, so I dont have copies of the patches everyone has posted. I guess if we can find a decent place to keep them, then some helpfuls souls wouldnt mind resubmitting them ? Another issue would be telling newbies that a patch repository exists and where to find it . Without access to modify the web site, I guess a monthly email reminder to list might be bearable ?
