I have put about 4.5 gigs of books on the Toshiba card you're talking about and the PTR1 can navigate through the files just fine. I think the PTR1 has problems with a single folder containing a huge file rather than lots of files in many folders--don't know. I do know that the current version of the software works just fine with the toshiba card.
