Hi,

If you use a music CDR it would record in CD audio format only and would
be playable in any CD player.

Andrew.

Hi Andrew -

If I was to use a music CDR then, to record a live stream, would this
then play in a standard CD player? or would it still be in daisy format?

Andy

Hi,

Yes it needs finalising, the PTR1 created the disk in such a way as
there is no TOC to start with until it is finalised. It can though be
left open.

There is no way to create just an MP3 disk on the unit, you need to
create it as a DAISY disk with all the issues we have been talking about
re the MP3 file on a DAISY disk being a sequencial file - i.e, you start
from the beginning and go forward, regardless of where you are in the
general scheme of the audio. While this plays in some MP3 players,
there will be no "tracks" by default, even though you put "headings"
into the unit, and audio may be presented out of order.

 Hi all -

I'm using data disks, and I want to make an MP3 CD, of a live stream
that will play in any mp3 player, but I'm not sure what settings to
choose for this in the PTR1; I don't want a daisy recording, because I
actually want to play this in a DVD player that supports MP3.

Also, will I need to finalise the CD before it plays in a standard
MP3/DVD player? or can I leave it open to add more tracks?

 Andy
