I was frankly surprised by Tim's expectation of POST-to-the-client ... if he means your local machine, I really just don't see that as happening (despite excitement around things like Opera's builtin server). Further, I don't think being server-to-server is a major limitation. It was by design and we should all understand why. When you actually need to get the the client machine, there are ways to do it that are most efficient for the particular task. Sometimes with polling, sometimes with Comet feeds, or maybe XMPP. But you need this kind of infrastructure working in the cloud before you can worry about the cloud-to-client stuff.
So yes, we need more components to get this coming into your desktop. But that *will* happen where needed. It should not be written off as an undesirable limitation of this protocol. It's not hard to set up a subscriber for PSHB, you just need to use the cloud and stop thinking about the desktop client so much. Anyway, agreed about a roadmap.
