Indeed I did not run the configure script.
Notes for the README:
- intltool should be installed first, it is not installed by default, at least
on Debian.
- Going to po/ directory and running "intltool-update fr" does indeed update
fr.po by merging the current original strings with the existing translation.
I could update the translation, that I am going to attach: Far from perfect,
but probably better than before.
