 Uh? "default" doesn't necessarily refer to a hardware device but is just
 some alias for a different device, and includes a lot of logic we don't
 want in PA. It also defines no channel mapping for more than 2 channels.
 As such PA doesn't use it but uses lower-level device strings.

 PA now has native BT support. It is not a good idea to go thrugh ALSA for
 BT support. In any way BT support is still very flaky.

 If your audio device may not be opened by any of the device strings PA
 tries then somethging is wrong with your audio driver or alsa config,
 believe me.
