#383: HAL detect module cannot find ALSA card (hda-intel) on Thinkpad T61 ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ Reporter: mgrela | Owner: lennart Type: defect | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: daemon | Severity: normal Resolution: | Keywords: hal intel-hda alsa ---------------------+------------------------------------------------------ Comment (by mgrela):
Oook, I`ve managed to work around the problem and Pulseaudio now seems to work. It is the module-hal-detect.so, that is broken. As you can see in the previous logs that I`ve posted it tries to open every sink ALSA has to offer without the most important one: default Everything works after commenting out module-hal-detect and manually loading: load-module module-alsa-sink device=default load-module module-alsa-source device=default However, this is not a real solution. Such kludges are not welcome on my system and I want to use some BT headphones which would require HAL. Something is clearly wrong with hal<->pulseaudio interaction. I`ve attached my device tree as HAL sees it. Hope this helps to locate this bug. I`m using hal-0.5.11-r3 and hal-info-20080508. -- Ticket URL: <http://www.pulseaudio.org/ticket/383#comment:2> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
