Comment(by lennart): Writing something like "front:CARD=xxx,DEV=yyy" does not really make sense, since the job of "front:" is actually to find the right device for a card to reach the front speakers. Hence what you write there uses "front:" to find the front device and then overrides that again. Also note, that HAL is obsolete these days, please use the udev module instead. Also, mentioning which PA version you are running is good idea. And I still don't get what issue you are reporting: with the profiles PA provides you select what you kind of output you want. So if you choose stereo output, you get stereo output. If you select surround output you get surround output. You seem to be looking for a stereo output that gives you surround output? That does not make much sense, unless you you employ upmixing, which PA employs anyway if you connect a stereo stream to a surround sink. So I am not sure what you are missing if you simply set your device to a surround profile? -- Ticket URL: <http://pulseaudio.org/ticket/699#comment:4> PulseAudio <http://pulseaudio.org/> The PulseAudio Sound Server _______________________________________________ pulseaudio-tickets mailing list pulseaudio-tickets@mail.0pointer.de https://tango.0pointer.de/mailman/listinfo/pulseaudio-tickets
