I'm not sure about Ubuntu but with this version of PA the default is to
use module-udev-detect not module-hal-detect as you have in your file.
Perhaps it's different in Ubuntu but I suspect that you need to update
your version to look more like the latest default.pa. Note that the names
assigned to the sinks may have changed due to the new detection module.
This might not solve your problem, but it's worth looking at first.
