Issue #6740 has been updated by Daniel Pittman. Assignee set to Daniel Pittman
Hey. Thanks for making this contribution. I took a look, and it doesn't look wrong, but... Specifically, the "but" is that this is a work-around for facts from the environment only, while I would much rather see a general solution proposed. This just solves one of the cases where a "better" resolution has less confines than a worse resolution, and I would prefer to see code that solved that as well as the specific case. That said, I also don't want to leave this broken just because we could do better, so... Merged. If you wanted to propose a general solution I would be really happy, though. :) ---------------------------------------- Bug #6740: facter doesn't always respect facts in environment variables https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/6740 Author: Richard Clamp Status: Ready For Testing Priority: Normal Assignee: Daniel Pittman Category: interface Target version: 1.6.0 Keywords: Branch: https://github.com/richardc/facter/tree/ticket/master/6740 On an OSX host: $ facter operatingsystem Darwin $ facter_operatingsystem=Not_Darwin facter operatingsystem Not_Darwin But on a linux/solaris host: $ facter operatingsystem CentOS $ facter_operatingsystem=Not_CentOS facter operatingsystem CentOS I have a patch pending to fix this -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
