Issue #7986 has been updated by Paul Armstrong.
OK, some dimwit made the publisher (that's what's in the braces) an optional field. It's only listed if it's _not_ the _preferred_ publisher. Using "pkg list -Hv $pkg" might be better:
pkg list -Hv service/network/ssh pkg://solaris/service/network/[email protected],5.11-0.151.0.1:20101104T234916Z installed -----
pkg list -u may also be useful (although you need to ensure the package actually exists before using it as both "doesn't exist" and "not upgradable" return the same error).
With -u, list only packages with newer versions available.
---------------------------------------- Bug #7986: Solaris 11/OpenSolaris pkg provider needs to accept exit code 4 https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/7986 Author: Paul Armstrong Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assignee: Category: package Target version: Affected Puppet version: 2.6.8 Keywords: solaris opensolaris pkg Branch: When a package doesn't require updates, pkg returns with an exit code of 4 instead of 0.
$ pkg install bash No updates necessary for this image. $ echo $? 4
The pkg provider needs to check for exit code 4 and treat that as success for checks. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
