I am sure that some will think this a foolish question, but id someone has the
patience to indulge me...

While pondering how to get puredyne installed, Lenny told me that some updates
were available, and I opted to go ahead and let them update.

When my box restarted, its network setup had changed. Now I cannot get it to
connect via DHCP, which it was doing automatically before. I don't know where
the network script is/should be. I have been messing around with this for about
six hours now and made no headway.

I am guessing that this is basically as simple as typing to default to eth0
using DHCP, but I have no how to make this work in practice. Can somebody
briefly clue me in? Until I get it, obviously I cannot update puredyne or
anything else. When I type "ifup eth0" DHCPDISCOVER doesn't find anything and
resorts to a self-assigned address. I don't ever want it to assign its own
address. What am I doing wrong?
