I'm under Debian Squeeze. I'm struggling with my wifi for 6 months
now. None of two cards work with Win2k lap (rt73 usb and rt2500
pcimcia). I've been trying all the apps without succes, but I've tried
lot of stuff, so:

There is something called rutilt. It is good for rt cards..
Don't install the wicd package unless you really have to - in 90% it
won't work better than the NetworkManager does and you'll end with
shit in setup files.

My way for now is to have the script that:
disables ALL the network tools (dhclient, NetworkManager,
wpa-supplicant, some applets and some other things - I've made some
chcecks with airomon-ng from aircrack-ng package, it shows the things
utilising wifi)
ifconfig down
iwconfig everything
ifconfig up
dhcpcd wifi

I connect to one single net only, so I have one script. I have to run
it several times to connect, but it does the job.

I'm able to crack wifis, inject packets, do a lot of stuff... but I
have serious problems to have stable connection with my own stuff.
What a pain in the ass.

Cheers,
Uki
