Hi, 

we are not really maintaining the debian packages and they will get
more and more obsolete and broken as time moves one. Using the kernel
though should be not much of a problem.

Also the packages there are build using dependancies from debian
multimedia repos so you will have to have them enabled too. In any
case this stuff is unsupported since we do all the packaging for
ubuntu nowdays.
