Hi all, just getting started with puredyne and had a couple of
questions/comments.

Sorry if these are noobish things -- I know what I'm doing with computers in
general, but haven't done much with Linux before.

1. Might be nice, on the live USB page, to have directions for a persistent
bootable stick. I need to tweak the environment a bit and I'd like to do
this in the USB environment before committing to a full install. (Plus, not
everything is working yet -- d@@@ realtek wifi) and I'd like to see how far
I can get with fixing those things before blowing away the original winxp on
the machine.)

2. Is there a way to add a completely new, custom keyboard layout? I tried
editing /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us to add the new layout and then editing
../rules/xorg.lst, but I couldn't choose the new variant in the keyboard
control panel (it wasn't available).

I can do it by replacing the definition of an existing variant, but I'm
curious if there is a less brutal way.

3. The alt keys to access menu options are not working on this machine
(Samsung N130). In gedit, e.g., alt-F types F into the document instead of
opening the file menu. The N130's keyboard gets identified as a ThinkPad
model -- suggestions for a different one to use?

Thanks.
James
