Do you have updated to last version ? They was a small bug when new cidr format 
for address has been introduced,
and fixed some days later.

can you send ouput of #pveversion -v ?

Some change have been done recently to convert old "address <ip> + netmask 
<netmask>", to "address <cidr>".
but this whitespace is strange.

Do you have initial /etc/network/interfaces before the change ? and also the 
file after the config change ?

that may explain some weirdness i observed yesterday: 

i added a bridge, rebooted server and after that the management ip 
adress was gone - i had a look into the configuration file for 
networking to see 

that netmask 255.255.255.0 had been converted into <server 
ip><whitespace>/24 

after removing the whitespace and reboot network was ok again.
