Hi Andrew,
Is it just the PVFS mount point that hangs, or the whole I/O node?
Can you see anything in the kernel messages or in the pvfs2-client log file?

Did you have any previous versions working on your BG/L ?
I don't have the link handy but i seem to recall it being on ANL's
site somewhere.
