Hi Phil,
I think it's only pvfs client. I've ran a test on Sam's request
(trying to write a 200+MB file from mmcs on an IO node, which
reproduced the problem) and placed the logs of the pvfs client and
servers at
<http://www.mit.edu/~avp/BD498E4E-34BA-45BD-9EF9-AE302C2D507C/200D35FA-D8DA-4E78-8AA8-C1336B0EF3F1/

During the tests, pvfs2-client, pvfs2-client-core and cp all hang, cp
did not respond to kill nor kill -9, pvfs2-client could be only killed
-9.
Some times a smaller file could be written (or read) without a
problem, but if the total amount of I/O is large enough, pvfs still
gets stuck.
Hope it helps,

Hi Andrew,
Is it just the PVFS mount point that hangs, or the whole I/O node?
Can you see anything in the kernel messages or in the pvfs2-client
log file?
