Yes, I see it now.  However you still have the clipping and stretching 
of a type which Scott does not have.  It's also interesting to note that 
the still image you posted is showing up as B&W.  Can you check what 
video standard the driver thinks it is in?  Do this *while* running 
mplayer so we'll know for a fact that this is the standard you're 
actually using (and can visually verify that the image is still B&W with 
color stripes).  The quickest way to check is to do this:

cat /sys/class/pvrusb2/*/ctl_video_standard/cur_val
