Of course! My apologies, Diego, you rule big time!! This Win2K bug was puzzling me a lot, I couldn't just dismiss it as a VM issue (because it works on 95/98/NT) and tried to come up with Squeak image level solutions. Mysteriously, this whole thing was working on my laptop, also a Win2K machine, so I could no longer reproduce the problem. Copying my image to other Win2K machines didn't help (I thought one of my hacks might have done the trick, but...). Also, those various fixes some of which actually did improve things on Win2K, they broke things on NT, so they never made it into the release.
Now, with Win2K issue off my back, I'll turn my back to other things :) Bolot
