Given the extent of the disagreement here, perhaps a reasonable
compromise can be to accept Florian's (and others') Mercurial links as
if they were patches sent to the tracker.  So long as the issue
remains open (and not marked Fixed as long as the patch has not been
committed to SVN), another contributor who is comfortable with using
both SVN and Mercurial can integrate the change at their convenience.
