Simpler workaround that doesn't completely kill the performance is to turn off vsync: window = pyglet.window.Window(vsync=False, ...) That prevents the hang from happening in the first place. Nvidia has weird ideas about how vsync is supposed to work and their implementation was broken several times in the past. It wouldn't surprise me if there was yet another driver bug.
