Ah. We do want to retain the new tests you added as doctests, in this merge, don't we? How many doctests did you add? By the way, did you update the docs on how to run the test suite, to reflect your new framework? Sorry to betray my ignorance here, but does this big merge of your test framework changes also include your changes to the documentation format?
