Thanks for the recommendation of your book. Will take a look on it. The python books I looked at yet only covered Tkinter/wxpython.

I am just starting to learn PyGtk and I must say I think it is a real drawback that the newest books about it are(as far as I know) at least 4 years old and cover only Gtk 1.
I suppose you already know it, but the pygtk tutorial does a really good job to get you started on current pygtk and further. The makefile has a pdf targed, and if it still works you can print it.

Don't get me wrong, but for me this tutorial feels more like a very good explained reference than a tutorial.
