Indeed it is. But nobody stood up an said "Hey, I'm still using 2.3". When we dropped 2.2 compatibility, nobody seams to care, either.

And if nobody needs 2.3, why care about it?

If all your customers (as far as you know) are using Windows XP or newer, would you still keep your program compatible with Windows 95 or 98 just for the case somebody demands it in the future? (I mean: would you refrain using a new feature which makes live easier?)
