Hi Andi, all
First thanks so much for this new revision.
I was able to compile it (had to get gcj4.1 first, I am running in OSX.)

If you are on PPC OS X, try with this compiler instead:
http://downloads.osafoundation.org/compilers/osx/ppc/gcc-3.4.4.tar.gz

It looks increasingly likely that, in order to compile with gcj 4.x, one must start from the svn sources, that is, also compile the Java Lucene sources first. This breaks the 'compile once, run anywhere' promise of Java but I haven't gotten to the bottom of this yet... Also, the only gcj 4.1 on PPC OS X I was able to use successfully was the one from darwinports.

I'm on Intel OS X and I use gcj 4.0.2 (heavily patched from http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/java/2006-05/msg00151.html) and all tests passed for me.

Andi..

Hi,

I'm on a Pentium Celeron machine, and have installed gcj 4.1 and libgcj from the debian packages, All this began with the file size problem, you know, files up to 4gb, and i thought that perhaps with pylucene compiled from the sources it will work fine, but i suppose i will have to compile gcc 3.4.4.

Ok, thank you very much
