There's no good answer because "good" depends on the morality of the
day, and things that used to be "good enough" are now considered (at
least by some and/or in some contexts) to be "evil".  And whatever seems
good today might well become horrible in two decades.

Which, actually, is a good argument to let language lag behind the
times, because at least you can ensure some reasonable stability in
communication conventions.  If you change conventions every decade, how
will you read texts from the past?
