Hi Marcus,
I think Jonathan has covered all the resources I can think of. But just
to let you know both Leeds[1] and Sheffield[2] have their own active
python groups. We try and make sure none of the meetings clash so when
you have free time you're welcome to turn up to as many of them as you can.
Cheers,
Ed

Greetings all,
I've been interested in Python for quite a few years now, and have
recently moved to Leeds. I'm a civil engineer by profession but have a
(morbid) interest in programming thanks to an upbringing involving
learning BASIC 1.1 from an early age, a mispent youth behind Linux
terminals and summer placements at Sheffield University.
Nowadays I'm creating a website in my spare time using the Python-driven
Django web framework, and I was wondering whether anyone in this group
could recommend any books which might be good for a relative novice to
programming and web development.
I check this group regularly and am hoping to come to some meetings
later in the year when I'm less busy with work. So hope to meet some of
you soon!
Cheers,
